This page is an experiment in marketing and Vertcally Integrated
Publishing (VIP). I'm posting a couple of files here that you can download. They're in PDF format and will pop up as readable
files when you click on them. You can read them here or save them to your own computer or PDF compatible device to read
later.
Vertically Integrated Publishing is a concept that has been discussed by Mike Stackpole and
Bob Verdeman as part of a new paradigm for authors. With the ability to generate and sell our own material on the Internet
in forms that can be read by many e-readers, we can potentially cut out the middleman, ie. the print publisher, and go directly
to our readers.
Several well known authors have started to market works for which they hold the e-rights through
their own websites. Those of us who are unknown are left with the problem of getting people to look at our site, much less
try our work. Sampling, such as is on this site is one way. Offering content for sale or download is another.
So here's the deal--Download the files here for free. Give them a test drive.
I'll leave them up for a while and may change them periodically. If you like what you see, PAY ME. Theres
a link to Paypal on the bottom. Send me what you think the work is worth. (A suggestion is $5.00 for a novel and $0.99 for
a short story, but it's your choice.) I'm breaking some of the rules of VIP by doing this, but hope to generate some buzz
and maybe some fans.
Heinlein supposedly said that SF authors are competing for our customer's beer money.
So be it. For not much more than the price of a Grande Latte, you can have a work of fiction that will last a lot longer.
